The Sugar Tree is a licensed and fully insured home- based business located in the mid-coast region of Maine, USA and was established in 2001. I offer many high quality and exceptional designer cakes and pastries made to order. Only the finest and freshest local ingredients are used in every delectable creation that leave my kitchen. I try to use from scratch recipes in every aspect of your order when possible including homemade jams, preserves, curds and we even have our own flock of feathered ladies to provide fresh, organic, free range eggs for cakes, pies, buttercreams and much more!
Hi there, I'm Pastry Chef Darci Lynn Chickering, owner and operator of The Sugar Tree. I grew up in the small village of Tenants Harbor on the Maine coast where I became interested in cooking at the age of 5. By the time I graduated high school I had worked 4 years as a line cook and baker. I attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where I graduated cum laude with an A.A.S in Baking and Pastry Arts in 1997 and also received my Cordon Bleu Certification which im very proud of. I've been published in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine and I've had dozens of my delicious cakes published in REAL Maine Weddings magazine as well. Cakes and pastries are a passion and I love creating one of a kind delectable works of art that taste even better than they look! I look forward to working with you and making you special occasion a sweet memory!
